Privacy policy

Last updated 28 October 2026

This policy explains what information loopsconnect collects, why, who can see it, and how you can see, correct or delete it. It covers the loopsconnect.com website, the CONNECT app at connect.loopsconnect.com, and free LOOP workspaces at loop.loopsconnect.com.

The short version

  • We collect only what CONNECT needs to work: your email, the name and details you choose to add, where help is needed, and what happens in each request.
  • We don’t sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or advertising cookies.
  • Free LOOP workspaces we host belong to the organisation that created them. If you run LOOP on your own server, we never receive anything from it.
  • You can delete your account yourself at any time in the app, or ask us to see, correct or delete your information by writing to hello@loopsconnect.com.

Who we are

loopsconnect is run by Vijay Gade, an individual based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India (“we”, “us”). We decide how your information is used and are responsible for it.

Contact for anything in this policy: hello@loopsconnect.com.

What this covers

This policy covers:

  • loopsconnect.com, this website.
  • CONNECT at connect.loopsconnect.com, which we host and run.
  • Free LOOP workspaces at loop.loopsconnect.com, which we host for organisations (see LOOP workspaces).
Self-hosted LOOP is different. LOOP is also open-source software that organisations can run on their own servers. In that case your organisation decides what’s stored and is responsible for it, and we have no access to it. Questions about it should go to your organisation’s Loop admin.

What CONNECT collects

WhatWhy
Your email addressTo sign you in with a one-time code, and to email you about requests that involve you. It’s also how people you know can find you.
Your name, and your phone number if you add itSo people know who’s asking or helping. Others see your first name and last initial (for example “Ravi K.”). Your phone number is shown only to the person you’re matched with, so they can call you. Someone who already knows your exact phone number or email can also use it to find you and ask to join your circle.
Your home area, and your location when you share itTo show requests near you and work out distances. Your exact location isn’t shown to others; they see a distance.
Requests and offers you postWhat you need or can help with, when, where (for example a pickup address), and any amount you agree, so the right people can see it.
Messages within a requestSo the two of you can sort out the details.
Finish codesWhen a helper scans your code to finish a request, we record the time and, if available, the place, as proof the help happened.
Ratings and reportsSo people can trust each other, and so we can look into problems.
Your circle and invitationsWho you’ve connected with, so your circle sees your requests first.
Sign-in and activity recordsSign-in codes, a session cookie, when you were last active, and a record of emails sent. These keep your account secure and help us fix problems.

We don’t ask for and don’t want sensitive information such as health, financial or identity-document details. Please don’t put them in requests or messages.

CONNECT doesn’t handle payments. Any amount shown on a request is a record of what you agreed; you settle it between yourselves.

LOOP workspaces we host

When an organisation creates a free workspace at loop.loopsconnect.com, the organisation decides who is in it and what it’s used for. We store and run it on the organisation’s behalf.

WhatWhy
Names, work emails, titles, teams and rolesAdded by the workspace’s admins, or by people joining themselves with their work email, so colleagues can send each other loops.
Loops, replies, decisions, spaces and Talk messagesThe workspace’s content: what people send each other. Only people in the workspace see it, following LOOP’s own rules (for example, a loop is seen by its sender and the people it’s for). A guest sees only the single loop they were added to.
Sign-in codes, sessions, when people were last active, and phone notification subscriptionsTo sign people in, keep accounts secure, deliver loops and notifications, and spot unused workspaces.
  • We don’t read workspace content except to keep the service running, to look into abuse, or where the law requires it.
  • The workspace’s admins can export everything, or delete the workspace, at any time.
  • If you’re in a workspace and want your information seen, corrected or removed, ask its admin first, or write to us at hello@loopsconnect.com and we’ll help.
  • Unused workspaces are deleted: if nobody opens a free workspace for 80 days, we email its admins, and if it’s still unused after 90 days we delete it.

Who can see what

  • Your circle and nearby helpers see your first name and last initial, your rating, and the requests you post, with a distance rather than your location.
  • The person you’re matched with sees the request details (such as the pickup address), your messages to each other, and your phone number if you’ve added one, so you can meet. Your email address stays private.
  • We can see account and request information to run CONNECT, keep it safe and look into reports. We don’t read your messages unless a report or a legal obligation makes it necessary.

The website and cookies

loopsconnect.com has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.

CONNECT uses one cookie, which keeps you signed in. It’s essential for the app to work, so there’s no option to turn it off. Your browser may also store a copy of the app for offline use.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when you visit, under Google’s privacy policy.

Services we use

We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it with advertisers. A few services help us run CONNECT and process information only for that purpose:

  • Hostinger hosts the website, CONNECT, LOOP workspaces, their databases and our email. Its servers may be outside India.
  • An email delivery service sends sign-in codes, invitations and reminders for LOOP workspaces. It receives the recipient’s address and the email itself, only to deliver it.
  • An address search service suggests addresses as you type: currently Photon by komoot, built on OpenStreetMap data. It receives what you type and an approximate location, not your name or email.

We may also share information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid order from a court or a government authority, or where it’s needed to protect someone’s safety.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, requests, messages and ratings are kept while your account is open. When you delete your account (You › Delete my account), they’re erased straight away. If you ask us by email instead, we do it within 30 days. The only exception is a request with an unresolved problem report, which is kept without your details until it’s settled, or anything the law requires us to keep.
  • Sign-in codes and unused finish codes are deleted within a day of expiring.
  • “Available now” status is deleted a day after it ends.
  • Address suggestions are cached for 30 days so repeat searches are fast. They don’t identify you.
  • Sessions are deleted when they expire, or straight away when you sign out.
  • LOOP workspaces are kept until their admin deletes them, or they’re deleted for being unused as described above. Deleting a workspace erases everything in it straight away.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and similar laws elsewhere, you can:

  • Get a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how it’s used.
  • Correct or update it. You can change your name, phone and home area in the app yourself.
  • Delete it: in CONNECT, go to You › Delete my account, or ask us by email.
  • Withdraw your consent, which means closing your account; it doesn’t affect anything done before.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
  • Raise a complaint with us, and if you’re not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To do any of these, email hello@loopsconnect.com from the address you use with CONNECT. We may ask you to confirm it’s you. We aim to reply within 7 days and to complete requests within 30 days.

Security

Sign-in uses one-time codes, so there are no passwords to steal. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes, and access to the database is restricted. No service is perfectly secure, though. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we’ll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Age

CONNECT is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a child has signed up, let us know and we’ll delete the account.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also tell CONNECT users by email or in the app before it takes effect.

Grievances

Vijay Gade, Grievance Officer
